I recommend putting some type of pad beneath the printer to protect your valued desktop from potential damage. The feet, just like the 3880 can become stuck to a tabletop, especially in warmer weather, and if may damage the surface in trying to lift it if it has remained in place for protracted periods of time. Made specifically for Cut sheet printing, It has 8 colours with auto-switch of the Matte and Photo Black for exceptional Matte and Gloss printing. Printer carriage noise is about the same as the 3880, and not particularly intrusive. The Epson Stylus Pro 3880 is a professional large format A2+ (17') printer which produces superb long-life colour and black and white prints. The deep blacks appear a bit richer, as advertised, but, I'm not sure I could tell that reliably, blinded, by more than chance alone.

The Atkinson standard color test print of multiple small images is essentially perfectly reproduced, although the test print of color balls is not so perfect, but substantially better than that of the 3880's output. Although the prints from the 3880 are excellent, the new inkset, amongst perhaps other factors, does definitely generate more tonally and chromatically accurate output, throughout the entire color range in the multiple images I have made. Full bleed is consistently accurate to the extreme edge with no artifacts. There is a 3.5-inch LCD color touchscreen on the front of the printer. It looks rather basic in black and white. Priced at 1,099, it’s not a printer for the casual user. There is no product information about the screen. The Stylus Pro 3880 is the top-of-the-line model in Epson’s prosumer series. The most important part of an ICC managed workflow is the settings. Most printers have a display that helps you to select features and choose your settings. The printhead on my 3880 was in need of replacement after 7 years of service, so upgraded to the P800. They must be used with very specific driver settings and proper workflow procedures in order to work.
